District Committee - 1st Thursday/Month, Courthouse, Chippewa Falls at 7:00pm
Each unit is expected to have one senator or representative on the district committee. This is where the planning and success of the district is determined. Detailed information about the status of the district is reported. This can be viewed as the executive board for Scouting in Chippewa, Clark and Taylor Counties.
Roundtable - 2nd Thursday/Month, Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Stanley at 7:00pm
This gathering is a fun informative one hour session for unit leaders to meet monthly to discuss areas of their unit that is going well and places where improvement is needed. This is a forum for ideas to be shared and informative sessions to be presented. 2011 will kick off the new and improved roundtables, which are very informative and will actually include a ‘round’ table discussion on topics monthly.
District Commissioner - 3rd Thursday/Month, Courthouse, Chippewa Falls at 7:00pm
This is a gathering of all the unit commissioners to discuss the health of the units in the district. Information for topics of discussion is relayed to the unit commissioners from the district commissioners.
KLONDIKE DERBY - JANUARY 27-29
Troops, Venture Crews, and Webelos Dens are invited to attend the annual Klondike Derby. Groups will take part in a variety of outdoor skill competitions during the day Saturday. All are invited to sleep outside overnight. Details will be forthcoming on a location and cost.
MERIT BADGE CLINIC - MARCH 24
A variety of merit badges, in a half-day and full-day format will be offered, as well as Boy Scout Leader Specific training. All Scouts should be in Class A uniform for the day. Lunch will be sold, or Scouts can bring a sack lunch.
SCOUTING FOR FOOD - APRIL 14/21
Scouting for food is a council wide activity where units collect food in their local communities to give to their local food pantries. Many of these organizations rely on these donations to provide food for the less fortunate in our community. On April 14th, Scouts from across the Chippewa Valley will distribute grocery bags to residential communities. Then, on April 21st, the grocery bags will be picked up with donations and taken to local food pantries. This is an opportunity to serve those in need in the Chippewa Valley.
