Cub Scout Adult Essentials
Cub Scout Adult Essentials is a series that builds from year to year as your Cub Scout moves up each rank. It contains Youth Protection, Cub Scout Leader Specific information, and Q&A geared to specifically help new leaders and parents understand how to create a successful experience for their Scouts. These sessions will allow you to learn how a Den & Pack meeting should operate and what your Scouts should be doing to succeed! Does your Pack or Den need a little overhaul? This is a great opportunity for existing Pack Leadership as well. It is always recommended that leaders participate in the scheduled sessions so they can network with other leaders. Some trainers may make arrangements to do sessions in addition to those scheduled by the districts. For any additional Parent Orientation sessions, arrangements must then be made with the individual trainers.  The trainers will register the leaders and will arrange for materials to be available.

For Cub Scout Leaders to earn a trained patch, two things must be completed:
#1.  Either the BSA online course for Youth Protection Training or the Youth Protection training given at the Cub
Scout Adult Essentials sessions must be completed.
#2.  the Cub Scout Adult Essentials session and module for their Scouting position must be completed.

All Boy Scout Leader Trainings are ideal for both Webelos Leaders as well as Boy Scout Leaders. Camping is a part of the Webelos Program. Webelos leaders can network with Boy Scout troop leaders through these Boy Scout Trainings. The Boy Scout leaders and troop members in our Council are excellent resources to help develop a Webelos Den’s camping program.

You MUST pre-register for all outdoor training sessions through the Scout Service Center.

NO walk-ins will be allowed to the B.A.L.O.O. (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation), OWL (Outdoor Training for Webelos Leaders),  or IOLS  (Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills) training sessions as there are a limited number of spaces available. Food for these trainings must be purchased prior to the training and the staff will only have food and prepared handout materials for those pre-registered.

It is suggested that a leader complete the Leader Position-Specific training for their registered position before attending the B.A.L.O.O, OWL, or IOLS trainings.

All Cub Scout leaders are strongly encouraged to take the outdoor training to be fully trained for their position.
